How to install / upgrade to Windows 11 on incompatible PC
In this post, we'll see step by step the installation of Windows 11 on INCOMPATIBLE PC.
Disclaimer: Upgrade to Windows 11 on incompatible hardware at your own risk, since there will be NO guarantee on system stability and compatibility for drivers.
The main idea is to install Windows 11 with Windows 10 system requirements, so lets start:
- Go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 and download Windows 10 installation tool then launch it.
- You will be presented with the license terms. Select Accept.
- In the next step, choose Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) for another PC then click Next.
- Select your Language and 64 bits Archtitecture then click Next.
- Setup will prompt you to choose which media to use, Please make sure to Select ISO file then click Next.
- Choose where do you want to save the ISO file in your PC.
- Now let the tool download and create our Windows 10 ISO file and pass to the next step to do the same with Windows 11.
- Go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11 and in the Create Windows 11 Installation Media section click on Download Now, then lauch it.
- You will be presented with the license terms. Select Accept.
- Select your Language then click Next.
- Same as we did with windows 10, Select ISO file then click Next.
- Choose where do you want to save the ISO file in your PC and make sure to give it clear name.
- Now let the tool download and create our Windows 11 ISO file and once both of them are completed click on Finish.
- Now lets extract both ISO files (you can use 7zip - it's free tool).
- Inside windows 10 extracted folder you'll find a folder named sources, open it and find a file named install.esd then delete it.
- Inside windows 11 extracted folder you'll find a folder named sources, open it and find a file named install.esd then copy it.
- Now, return to Windows 10 sources folder and paste windows 11 install.esd file.
- That's all what we need to get Windows 11 installation tool with Windows 10 hardware requirement. Open windows 10 folder and double click on setup to start the installation of Windows 11.
- The installation will start and you'll notice that it says Install Windows 10. Don't worry and just click Next.
- Choose Not right now then Next.
- You will be presented with the license terms. Select Accept.
- Maybe you noticed the the title, it's Windows 10 setup while you'll install Windows 11, Now click on Install.
- It might take some time to install Windows 11, and your PC will restart a few times. Make sure you don’t turn off your PC.
